Incorrect brought forward balances

Paul a lot of our data from last year is incorrect and as we ran a dual system with Pastel I would like to know if it it would be at all possible to delete last years financial data and re import the Pastel Balances as the correct opening balances for this year. If we need to delete the whole of finsys can we not export what we have done this year to excel and then import it. At the same time I could correct the codes in excel and create the correct ones in Develate.
Just a thought.

Will it have an impact on the rest of the system as it is an independent module?

Chart of account codes

I would like to know if it is at all possible to use find and replace to change certain digits in the account codes - for example I have a set of codes that read 123pc1ac and I would like to change all the pc's to ch and all the 1's to a p

Hi Paul,

i noticed some time ago that it is no longer possible to enable spell check in message bodies. It is still possible in the subject line. The same goes for the tracker, although it seems in the forum one is able to spell check the body. Is this related to an update with Firefox? As a notoriously bad speller i am then forced to type in Word, to copy and paste, which includes code, which then increases the size of my messages.

Any suggestions?

Changing interventions to snapshots

Hi Paul,

We have been collecting certain information as interventions rather than
snapshots.

Would it be feasible to recode such interventions as snapshots using the
same date?? i would suggest that the intervention data not be deleted,
but stay as "duplicates", just adding extra snapshot information.

Develate database: Error in adding interventions

I am experiencing a problem with adding (saving) interventions on the Develate database. When going to IMS- Capture Activities- By single beneficiary-Enter fieldworker and date of activities- When you tick interventions and click 'Add' button (on the right hand side), it does not respond. This happened this morning after we upgraded to Develate version 3.1.7.

I have Repaired Detabase two times but the problem continues. Any suggestion?

Changing fund periods

When this specific fund was set up, it was incorrectly recorded as covering a year. However, the end date should actually be Dec 2012. So it should cover 1 year and 5 months.

We have tried to change the end date. When one presses either of the "update" buttons, it reverts back to Jul 2012. If one presses the "submit query" button, it gives the message in the screenshot.

What are we doing wrong?

"Missing" cashbooks

Blocked vs unblocked budgets - past and present

I have blocked some lines on the Chart of Accounts which were incorrectly used/set up over a long period of time in terms of the codes used. When looking at Budgets after blocking all these line items the budgets still appear. Hoe does one view only actual available budgets (only unblocked)?

Starting payroll integration from scratch?

Greetings,

We wish to start using the payroll integration function. i have read the wiki, however i am not quite sure where to start from, if starting from scratch? If i select a period "to work form", which i interpret as opening that specific month, no additional information appears (the page stays as it was). i have tried to select different months, but it returns to the current month. So we cannot start the main process to import any information either. (Hope this makes some sense?)

Any thoughts?

Permission to do internal database back up (copy) granted

Permission was granted for me to do internal database back up (Admin - Copy this database) but the error message still shows that "You need permission "SUPERUSER::ANYTHING!" to access this feature. Please ask a superuser"

Changing server URL?

We are trying to install a network monitor (Paessler PRTG Network Monitor). However, once installed it "monopolises" both the URL and IP address of the server that we use to access Develate, so we are not able to access Develate. However it goes to http://server/home, so i am wondering if we can create another directory, e.g. server/develate to get around this. Will this work? If yes, how do we change the current reference?

How are appraisal scores calculated

In follow-up to the recent thread about how to view appraisal scores, how is the average calculated?

One example i can see is where there were 2 evaluators, with the scores being 84.3 (self) and 79.4 (supervisor) when viewed from >>Appraisals >> View appraisals. However, when drawing a report the average for this appraisal is given as 111.1. Please help me to interpret this.

i understand that a supervisor's rating counts more. Is this correct?

Another lists 87.7 (self) and 55.5 (supervisor), with the average being 60.1.

Viewing overall appraisal for other staff members.

Hi,

I am a super user, when I try to view overall appraisal for other staff members in order to transfer it to spreadsheet.

I click to see averaged appraisal for each person it says " You do not have permission to view this appraisal". I can only view my appraisal.

Only the programme Director who can view overall appraisal for everyone.
